When Hurricane Irma threatened South Florida as a category 5. Pet owners in South Florida were hit with a lot of stress especially the ones that live in mandatory evacuation areas. Between Broward County and Miami-Dade, not many shelters accepted pets. And with the stress and the constant reminders to pet owners all over the south about handling their pets, many knew what to do while others didn’t know where to start. After Irma It was Stated that there were 126 pest displaced and are finally being taken in by The Charleston Animal Society.
