On November 18th, Plantation hosted their annual Holiday Parade that includes both Plantation and South Plantation High School plus several floats. The parade started on Saturday morning, beginning at the corner of Broward Boulevard and 441, and ending at City Hall. The clubs from Plantation High School that were part of the event included J.R.O.T.C, Choir, S.G.A, Cheer-leading, N.H.S, and Band.
J.R.O.T.C was one of the biggest groups at the parade, and were the ones who lead the other groups from Planation High. Every one of their members wore their uniforms and stayed in exact formation the whole walk to City Hall, plus two of the members held the American flag and Florida state flag. Band was second in line, they played as they marched thru the streets and as loud as they could. N.H.S were the second largest group at the Holiday Parade, though there were more of them than J.R.O.T.C but many of the members could and did join other groups. They waved at the audience of the parade and each member wore their brand-new club shirts that they just got earlier that week. |
The Cheerleaders followed right behind N.H.S, showing off several of their best moves of this season and new ones. After that group, the choir followed while singing several classic Christmas carols such as Jingle Bells. Newspaper and yearbook joined together as one group, and sang along with choir while holding signs supporting their group. Then the final group was S.G.A, who helped organize the other groups in the Holiday Parade. In addition to the Plantation School’ s clubs that joined the parade, it also had several floats, such as one made to celebrate military veterans, and did have several local veterans on it wavering to kids on the street. At the end the Mayor wished everyone in the parade and the audience a happy holiday.
The Holiday parade ended at City Hall, where the mayor introduced the groups as they came around the front of the Building.
