The NRA Is Losing Support Fast
The NRA is quickly losing support in light of the Valentine's Day shooting at Parkland.

The National Rifle Association of America is a non-profit organization that advocates for gun rights. A membership with the NRA would mean major discounts on flights and rental cars, and specialized cards from bank for members of the NRA. But recently after the tragic school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas, all of that changed. This tragedy pulled on many heart strings across the country, and on the heart strings of companies with NRA sponsorships. The NRA is not supportive of the idea of stricter gun laws that will protect citizens from shootings like the one on Valentine’s Day. 13 companies have cut ties with the NRA because of their unwillingness to compromise.
The National Bank of Omaha took the lead on Thursday, February 22nd as the first company to cut ties with the NRA. It said that it would discontinue issuing NRA branded cards to members and a Spokesperson also stated that “Customer feedback prompted a review of its partnership with the NRA, and it chose not to renew its current contract.” This put pressure on other companies to cut ties with the NRA, partly to take a stand and also to please customers who disagree with the NRA. |

More companies like Rent-a-cars and airlines have cut sponsorships with the NRA. Regardless of why, the NRA is receiving less and less support.
