The Miami Marlins team was just purchased by a team of investors that includes formal 14-time all-star shortstop for New York Yankees, Derek Jeter. But despite what most people believes, he is not the complete owner of the brand, team, or even pay the full price tag. Instead it was bought by a team of investors that does included Jeter, but he is not the main buyer, and only owns 4%. Instead the group leader is a venture capitalist Bruce Sherman, who owns 46% of the team. The only other group member is Michael Jordan, who only owns a haft of a percent of the team.
The Marlins former owner Jeffrey Loria sent a signed $1.2 billion was submitted to the Major League Baseball in August to sell the team to Sherman's group. After some time, the vote was supported with 75% approval to the deal. Derek Jeter may not be the complete owner of the Miami Marlins, but he will be in charge of the team and some business aspects as well.

Four Miami Marlins executives doing the sell were told that they won’t be retained after the new owners are chosen, and that they will continue working until further notice. The executives in question are hall of fame Andre Dawson and Tony Perez, former manager Jack McKeon, and President Jeff Connie (also known as Mr. Marlin.).
Derek Jeter will be a limited partner in charge of the business and baseball operations, while others in the group will take charge of major decision making. The new owners already have a major decision to make, which is what to do with Stanton. This decision could affect the relationship between the Band and the community which is already badly damaged. This damage is due to the former owner of the Miami Dolphins, Jeffery Loria, conservatively spending and his public financing of a Marlins park that is currently 5 years old. Many critics argue that spending money on projects like those add nothing to the team or help the community that watch. Any choice made in this decision can affect the Team newest owners, either faring deeper into the hole even more or bring the band back on good side with all of their fans. But they only just brought the band and will have time to decide their decision on the matter, but the fans do have some big hopes for the new owners to make big changes for the betterment of the team and their patrons. |
