Free food, no power
Broward County has issued public schools to give out free breakfast and lunch to students.
Hurricane Irma just hit Florida, leaving parts of Florida damaged, trees uprooted, store signs destroyed, traffic signs leaning, streets flooded, etc.. The biggest damage was a power outage, that affected a large percentage of Floridians. Many people found themselves without the electricity they would need to use their appliances in order to cook food, or warm it up. Thankfully Broward County organized free breakfast and lunches for the entire. 27 Broward Public Schools offered free lunch and breakfast for students that have been affected by the outage at home. Parents are thankful for Broward County's kindness towards their children in this stressful time.
FPL has changed their last predicted date for the powers full restoration, from last Sunday to this week Saturday. Hopefully power is fully restored to the cities houses by this week so that families can go back to their regular schedules. It is a nice thing that the school board decided to help provide for the affected families, this way students will still be able to perform well in class. Though many students still don't have the power needed to finish their class work that requires internet access. This helps to make the entire ordeal a lot easier to deal with. Hopefully the power across the parts of Florida affected will be fully restored soon. |
Those without food are given free food by Broward County public schools.
