On January 5th, the book detailing President Trump's campaign and first year of presidency was released. “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House” by Michael Wolff is the book that pierces the heart of Trump's Presidency, showing the corruption and shining the light on the truth.
Michael Wolff had access to President Trump's campaign for 18 months and said he had frequent access to the West Wing of the White House obtaining over 200 interviews including the man of the hour President Trump himself was also interviewed by Wolff. With all this appealing evidence that not one word in Wolff's book was fabricated a question still hangs in the air. Given Michael Wolff's reputation of being a yellow journalist is the book's possibility of not being 100% authentic affecting the sale of the book?
Ms. Jones a social studies teacher from Plantation High School states "some people perceive a lot of people will not buy this book...feeling like they are reading a bunch of lies when people really want to be legitimately informed about the Trump campaign." On the other hand, Ms. Jackson asserts "the book is going to sell…our society is in an uproar, our country is in an uproar...people are up in arms with the stuff that Trump is doing, people are going to buy this book just because Trump is on the cover." In the United States alone over 29,000 copies and 350,000 digital and audio books was sold in the first week of the book's publication. On Thursday January 18, Endeavor Content purchased film and television rights of the book for $10 million. Whether the book is factual or falsified sales only seem to elevate from the controversy surrounding the book.
